QUOTE: Know that whatever is believable is achievable- good or bad; positive or negative.

SCRIPTURE: And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

NUMBERS 13:33.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot change your life until you change your mind.

One of the things a person must guard against in life is the spirit of inferiority. It is also called the spirit of rejection or low self-esteem. Mike Murdock calls it the grasshopper mentality. Victims of the spirit of inferiority believe that other people are better than them. They believe others can succeed but they cannot. Some of them even say that God does not love them.

That is the kind of mentality that fuels captivity, adversity and calamity. It is the mentality the fuels negative responses of a person to life-changing opportunities. For innstance, when you tell someone with a grasshopper mentality that you saw their name amongst those to be employed at the Central Bank of Nigeria, he would say, “Me? Who dash monkey banana or who gives monkey coat? That is, it is impossible. He has limited his destiny to that of a monkey and its habitual feeding on bananas or not fit for dressing in suit.

Beloved, take note of the following facts about mindset.

  1. Mindset determines outcome. Your mindset is the engine room of your destiny (Proverbs 4:23). So, if failure fills your heart, failure will be processed for you and that will be the outcome of your life. God forbids!
  2. Mindset determines action. You behave the way you believe. You move about with audacity because you have an audacious mentality. On the other hand, a person with an apologetic mentality moves about apologizing to everyone.
  3. Mindset is magnetic (Proverbs 23:7). So, what you meditate on determines what you magnetize. The kind of people or circumstances that come your way are products of what occupies your mind. You cannot change your life until you change your mind.
  4. Mindset either facilitates or frustrates Divine intervention. If what is on your mind is positive, God will answer (Ephesians 3:20).
  5. How you see yourself determines how the enemy sees and handles you (Numbers 13:33).

Now, what is therapy for the grasshopper mentality?

  1. See yourself the way God sees you.
  2. Refuse to settle for what people say about you. You can prove them wrong.

Remember this: You cannot change your life until you change your mind.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Locate what God says about you in the Scriptures and believe it.
  2. See yourself the way God sees you.
  3. Delete from your mind every negative perception of people concerning you.

AMAZING FACT: Ants can communicate and cooperate effectively by using chemicals known as “pheromones.” Through these chemicals, ants can send simple messages to their fellows, alerting them to danger or indicating when food has been located.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: The Lord imparts to you the grace for a positive mindset and healthy self-esteem in Jesus’ Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I believe in Your Word concerning my life and destiny. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am a royal priesthood, and a wonder to my generation. And so shall it be, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
